Facebook Co-founder Discusses ‘The Social Network’ (kind of)

On CNBC’s guest blog today, Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin posted an article he titled “What I Learned from Watching ‘The Social Network.’” According to his post, his relationship with Facebook seems as strong as ever.

Eduardo Saverin provided original and ongoing funding to start “thefacebook,” only to be cut out of the company by Mark Zuckerberg around the time the network hit one million members.

When said content is discovered in a text message, the objectionable words will be removed or the text will simply not be sent.… Continue reading

According to an article in The Huffington Post, Google is now working on their next big breakthrough: cars that drive themselves.

Project Leader Sebastian Thrun said that the goal is to “help prevent traffic accidents, free up people’s time and reduce carbon emissions” through ride sharing and “the new highway trains of tomorrow,” on Google’s corporate blog Saturday.

The car is never completely unmanned, as a backup driver will always be behind the wheel to monitor the software that makes it capable for the car to drive on its own. These… Continue reading

BP Oil Spill Update

In case you haven’t heard, the BP Oil Spill really did happen. Thousands of people are still suffering because of massive amounts of oil spilling into the Gulf of Mexico. Even though the major news media found the story a bit boring once the leak was actually plugged, it’s important that we continue to keep ourselves updated on what’s going on in the Gulf.

Solutions for Future Spills

Although a moratorium was enacted to disable new deepwater oil rigs, it may be lifted even before we have come up with an actual solution to deepwater oil spills. Exxon Mobil Inc.… Continue reading
