Comprehending US Health Care Reform

Let’s ask ourselves a few questions about the new health care bill:

**Who will pay for the billions of dollars in tax increases?

**What will happen when people start dropping their existing coverage to acquire cheaper coverage?

**President Obama said after the bill was passed, “It’s time to bring this debate to a close and begin the hard work of implementing this reform properly on behalf of the American people.”  Is that possible with so many people in disagreement? How can we focus on health care reform as a whole, instead of as two sides?

Either way, the day mainly seemed to revolve around defense.

Once I experienced a few St. Patrick’s Days after turning twenty-one, I realized why it appealed to so many of those who weren’t personally involved in the Irish culture. The food, the… Continue reading

Tiger Woods: International Player and Role Model?

With a button-push of his cell phone, Tiger Woods can grab the attention of the world media whenever he needs or wants it. The attentive eyes that once looked up to him with respect at the drop of a hat, however, now look down on him with disappointment. We can still badger him for advice to use on the golf course, but even his close friends will look elsewhere for tips on their personal lives.

Woods has announced that he will return to golf in April of 2010 when he plays at the Masters. Even though he may come back to golf… Continue reading
