When and Where are You Happy with Health Care?

This Sunday, Congress will vote on US Health Care reform.

As this issue will affect millions of people in serious ways and has already stirred up a lot of conversation, we want to leave the opinions and comments to you today.

How have you experienced problems with health care? How do you feel we should approach health care reform? Do you have ideas for health care solutions? With all the trouble we have had so far, is there something to be said about the efficiency of the decision-making process?

Many people have experienced health care systems in places outside the US and some Americans even choose to be treated elsewhere. If you have experienced a strong health care system somewhere else, let us hear about it!

If you have a comment on Health Care, please don’t hesitate to post it here.

    Ann Marie (or anyone) :

Now that all has been said and done, how do you feel about the legislation?

  • Ann Marie says:

Something MUST BE DONE for health care, even if it is the imperfect plan
being voted on now. It is mind-boggling that Congress has been trying
and failing to help Americans with health care for well oer 50 years! Take away their federal health care and let them scramble to get insurance with
all their “pre-existing” conditions. And that phrase is the root of all evil.
Most people who do no want health insurance reform passed, have great
insurance thru their employer and the group plans. The group plans get
all the rate breaks and everyone is included. But try to get insurance as
an individual and all bets are off. Unless you are in PERFECT HEALTH,
eveything is a pre-existing condition (no matter how minor) and you are
either denied coverage, denied coverage for those conditions, or pay
an exorbitant monthly premium ($1400 per month for example). If one
is very wealthy its not a problem; if one is very poor, you get state-
funded insurance. But if you are middle class and lost your job or own
your own small business, you are out of luck. And it is for these people,
like myself, that health insurance reform must go forward!

    • Ashley Obit says:

I agree with you- it is pathetic that an insurance company could get away with calling absolutely anything a “pre-existing condition”. I really hope that the healthcare reform actually helps those who need it and stops those who are out there to just make money. Im a bit worried at the healthcare system being able to handle 30 million more patients- i guess only time will tell.

    • Ron says:

Something must be done with healthcare, social security and runaway government spending. Our system is in dire need of an overhaul. However, deficit spending is beyond reasonable and our elected officials are a disgrace.

Whether your a Donkey or an Elephant folower we need to get representatives that serve the american people and not the lobbyists special interests and themselves.

Come November I will GRIP( Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians) my elected representatives. They are not doing what’s best for America and do not deserve to keep there jobs. They are not subject to the provisions of there own healthcare legislation which I find quite ironic. I work for 1/2 of my previous salary and have no healthcare benefits from my employer but I don’t advocate passing the bills of tdy onto my children tomorrow and there children after that. We have a spending problem in this nation and we’d better get it under control or we’ll continue to decline. Our middle class is getting decimated and we need to get back to basics.

Time for some change we can not only believe in but that we can afford too!!!

      • Chris says:

Thanks for your insightful comments. Ron…

I fully agree that whether you are a donkey or an elephant, keeping the entire country’s future in mind is key. Putting special interests in front of dire issues like healthcare and government spending is a serious problem in our system and it needs to be dealt with as soon as possible.

I will also do my best to GRIP my elected representatives.
